Holy Trinity Church Initiates New Earth Friendly Fundraiser
Church hosts fundraiser that helps the community and the environment

Tiverton,Rhode Island, October 26, 2009 –  Holy Trinity Church today announced that it would be sponsoring a “green” fundraising drive in an effort to raise funds while making the world a better place to live.  The church will make 40% of all sales of eco-friendly and fair trade products on www.greenraising.com/index.aspx?AFID=1664 from November 1st through November 22nd.   The church hopes to raise at least $3000 in support of its Religious Education Programs.

“We were looking for a fundraiser that reflected the values of our church and parishioners,” said Holy Trinity Church fundraising coordinator Brianna McAvoy.   “With Greenraising, we feel good about the products they offer and about the lessons the children are learning.  They learn that their actions make a difference in the world.  This Internet fundraiser will help support our growing Godly Play and Rite 13 classes.”

Greenraising carries a full line of eco-friendly and fair trade products, from reusable grocery bags to multi-use water bottles to all-natural cleaning supplies and lotions.  There is fair trade chocolate, jewelry from women’s cooperatives in Guatemala, toys, and lunch boxes made from recycled drink containers, among many other items.

Holy Trinity Church, located at 1956 Main Road in Tiverton, is an Episcopal Church with a focus on welcoming new members of any age into their Christian fellowship. They also feel that Christian education is important not only for the children, but for the community and the world. They provide engaging learning experiences for all ages. For children ages four through ten, Godly Play is offered on Sunday mornings. Each session centers around interactive storytelling of Biblical tales as well as creative time for the children with activities related to the story. For older children in grades six through eight, Rite 13 is offered which encourages youth to grow in faith and in service to the community.
